What shipping container sizes do you offer?
We offer a comprehensive range of ISO standard shipping containers to meet diverse logistics needs. Our inventory includes 6ft (2m), 10ft (3m), 20ft (6m), and 40ft (12m) containers in both standard and high cube configurations. Standard containers have an interior height of 8'6", while high cube containers offer 9'6" of interior height, providing 13% more volume. All containers are built to ISO 668 specifications with reinforced steel construction. We stock both new containers and certified used containers in excellent condition. What is the difference between new and used shipping containers?
New containers are manufactured to ISO standards with pristine condition, no dents or rust, and come with a warranty. Used containers are certified pre-owned units that have completed their shipping lifecycle but remain structurally sound and weathertight. Our used containers are thoroughly inspected, cleaned, and certified for storage or transport. New containers cost more but offer maximum lifespan (25+ years), while used containers provide excellent value at 40-60% lower cost with 10-15 years of remaining service life. Both types are equally suitable for storage, offices, or transport depending on your needs. We provide detailed condition reports for all used containers, including photos and inspection documentation.
What are high cube vs standard shipping containers?
Standard containers measure 8'6" in interior height and provide 1,172 cubic feet of space (20ft) or 2,385 cubic feet (40ft). High cube containers are 9'6" tall, offering 1,308 cubic feet (20ft) or 2,694 cubic feet (40ft)—approximately 13% more volume. High cube containers are ideal for lightweight, bulky cargo, while standard containers are better for dense, heavy goods due to weight distribution. High cube containers cost 10-15% more but maximize space efficiency. Both types feature the same footprint and are compatible with standard handling equipment. Choose based on your cargo type: high cube for volume-sensitive goods, standard for weight-sensitive shipments.
What are refrigerated shipping containers and what are they used for?
Refrigerated containers (reefers) maintain precise temperature control from -25°C to +25°C, making them essential for perishable goods. Available in 20ft and 40ft sizes, they feature insulated walls, a diesel or electric cooling unit, and digital temperature monitoring. Reefers are ideal for transporting fresh produce, frozen foods, pharmaceuticals, flowers, and temperature-sensitive chemicals. They consume approximately 50-100 liters of fuel per day depending on ambient temperature and load. Our reefer fleet includes both single-temperature and multi-temperature units. Rental rates include fuel and maintenance. We offer delivery and logistics support for reefer shipments. Minimum rental periods typically apply. Delivery is available throughout South Africa with logistics support for placement and securing. Standard delivery takes 5-7 business days; expedited options available. Customization includes paint colors, door modifications, ventilation systems, internal shelving, and company branding. Minimum order quantities apply for custom work (typically 2+ units).
